Journal on Monday: week 23

Hey all!
I hope your week started well today. I still need a lot of rest and after having some friends over yesterday (happy time!) i had to take it easy today. So for my Journal on Monday, i decided to stick with my all time favorite technique, which is using gesso as a resist.

Coucou!

Journaling: 'Creativity is intelligence having fun.' Not that i consider myself intelligent, but i do consider myself as someone who is having fun! ;)

For the first step of my all time favorite technique: roughly apply some gesso on your paper. Do not cover it all up! I like to do this with my 'superduper-cheap-never-clean-paintbrush'. Once dry, add some adirondack, distress ink or glimmer mist. On this piece i used pool, stream, caramel adirondack, applied directly from the pad on to the paper, then toned down and melted together by rubbing a babywhipe over it.

I did the same on a piece of white cardstock, but used pashmina glimmer mist to add color and rubbed the tattered borders with wild plum adirondack.

I stamped some images and a text stamp with black archival.

I glued the cardstock and some Lord Tim of Holtz stickers. The journaling is handwriten using a fountain pen and black India ink. I wanted to create something using bright colors. What do you think, mission accomplished?
In case you missed it: the tute of my last kit is now available as a pdf file. You can find all the info here.

  6. Love the colours, they remind me of old heavily painted walls that have started to fade and decay - real shabby chic!
