Use It Tuesday: Red - White - Blue

Hey all!
Here we are, with another Design Team piece for the Use It Tuesday challenge. This week the challenge is all about the colors red, white and blue. When i saw this, all i could think of was... 4th of July! The point of the challenge is to dig into your stash and use what you have. I certainly had no problem with that: ages ago, i bought Lord Tim of Holtz seasonal stash. The 4th of July themed paper was condemed to stay in my papertray... until now!

Nous revoici avec une autre création pour le challenge Use It Tuesday. Cette semaine le sujet du challenge sont les couleurs rouge, blanc et bleu. Quand j'ai vu ça, tout ce à quoi je pouvais penser était... la fête du 4 juillet! Le but du challenge est de plonger dans notre matos et d'utiliser ce qu'on a. Je n'avais aucun problème avec ça: il y a une éternité, j'ai acheté le papier saisonnier de Seigneur Tim of Holtz. Le papier au thème du 4 juillet était condamné a rester dans mon tiroir à papier... jusqu'à maintenant!

The frame is made of 1/16 inch cardboard, covered with Lord Tim's paper and tissue tape. The flag and July-word are from his seasonal salvation stickers. I used the mini rosette die to make the right corner decorations. The guy and stars are Lady Wendy Vecchi art parts coverd in Lord Tim's paper and stamped. I used a bit of glossy accent to put some... accent on the background paper.

Le cadre est fait de carton 2 mm, recouvert de papier Seigneur Tim et de tissue tape. Le drapeau et le mot July sont de ses autocollants saisonniers. J'ai utilisé la plaque de découpe mini rosette pour faire les décos des coins droits. Le gars et les étoiles sont des art parts de Lady Wendy Vecchi, recouverts de papier et tamponnés. J'ai utilisé un peu de glossy accent pour mettre quelques... accents sur le papier de fond.

Grungy Monday #12 - SSSSC

Hey all!
This morning i had great fun creating my entry for this week Grungy Monday challenge and Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge! Over at Studio L3, the Lovely Linda challenges us to use Lord Tim's April 2008 technique. Involving dabber and clear embossing powder, how could i not like that?
Over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, Sweet Linda asks us to show some metal. Did someone say metal?
So, here's my 2 in 1!

Ce matin je me suis bien amusée à faire ma contribution pour le challenge de cette semaine de Grungy Monday et de Simon Says Stamp and Show! Au Studio L3 , L'adorable Linda nous défie à utiliser la technique de Seigneur Tim d' Avril 2008. Impliquant du dabber et de la poudre à embosser clear, comment ne pas aimer ça?
Chez Simon Says Stamp and Show, la Douce Linda nous demande de montrer du métal. Quelqu'un a dit métal?
Donc, voici mon 2 en 1!

 

For Lord Tim's technique i used silver dabber instead of espresso, on a piece of paper from his Lost and found paperstash. The little words on the mini tags and the dream-wish-love are Lord Tim's stamps. The wording at the bottom is a Lady Wendy's. 

That's it for today, i'm working on some upcoming classes on which i'll give some sneak peeks very soon. 'Till than i wish you lots of creative moments!

Pour la technique de Seigneur Tim j'ai utilisé du dabber argent au lieu d'espresso, sur un de ses morceaux de papier Lost and found. Les petits mots sur les mini tags et le dream-wish-love sont des tampons de Seigneur Tim. Le texte sur le bas est de Lady Wendy.

C'est tout pour aujourd'hui. Je travaille sur quelques projets pour des ateliers à venir, pour lesquels je donnerai quelques avant-goût bientôt. Jusque là je vous souhaite pleins de moments créatifs!

EDIT:  MARIA: i couldn't mail you to answer your question, so here's the answer. That's Lord Tim 'stuff to say' stamp, # 110. The long text on the left doesn't mean anything. But seperately or in little groups those words are great!

EDIT: MARIA: je ne savais pas répondre à ta question par mail, donc voici la réponse. C'est le tampon 'stuff to say', #110 de Seigneur Tim. Le long texte sur la gauche ne veut rien dire. Mais séparément ou par petits groupes ces petits mots sont géniaux.

i am my art

Hey all!
I hope your weekend is as fulfilling as you wish it to be. Mine has been good so far. I had the urge to scrap something related to my accident (now 16 months ago) because it has been very present in my mind lately. Lots of rest needed, lots of pain, lots of thinking and frustration not to be able to do what i want to. Than i remind myself that i'm able to scrap the way i scrap thanks to all of these reasons...

J'espère que votre weekend est aussi satisfaisant que vous le souhaitez. Moi je passe un bon moment jusque là. J'avais un grand besoin de scrapper quelque chose en relation avec mon accident (il y a 16 mois maintenant) parce qu'il a été très présent dans mes pensées ces derniers jours. Grand besoin de repos, beaucoup de douleur, beaucoup de réflexion et de frustration de ne pas savoir faire ce dont j'ai envie. Alors je me remémore que je suis capable de scrapper comme je scrappe  grâce à toutes ces raisons...

 I started off with a canvas on cardboard, colorised it with lots of layers: weathered wood stain, old paper, frayed burlap re-inker sprayed with mini mister, old paper, frayed burlap, brushed corduroy, vintage photo, walnut stain, black soot distress ink. I stamped a background image with walnut stain, than blurred the image with a wet brush.

J'ai démaré avec un canvas monté sur carton, colorisé avec des couches et des couches: weathered wood stain, old paper, frayed burlap en réencreur spritcher avec un mini mister, old paper, frayed burlap, brushed corduroy, vintage photo, walnut stain, black soot en encre distress. J'ai tamponné une image de fond avec du walnut stain, puis j'ai flouté l'image avec un pinceau mouillé.

The body is a Lady Wendy art part covered with paper and stamped with the matching stamp in coffee archival and finished off with some candy rock distress stickles. I did the same with the grungeboard wing. The grungeboard florish is colorised with vintage photo crackle paint. The clock and gears received a vert de gris treatment. The wording and the oops are Lady Wendy stamps, all the others are from Lord Tim.

Le corps est un art part de Lady Wendy recouvert de papier et tamponné à l'archival coffee avec le tampon assorti. J'ai fait la même chose avec l'aile en grungeboard. L'arabesque est colorisée à la crackle paint vintage. L'horloge et les engrenages ont reçu un traitement vert de gris. Le texte et le oops sont des tampons Lady Wendy, tous les autres sont de Seigneur Tim.

 I melted black utee on the right down corner, than melted brown embossing powder over it. The butterfly is from Lord Tim's salvage stickers 'lost in the attic'.

 J'ai fait fondre de l'utee noire sur le coin droit en bas, puis j'ai fait fondre de la poudre à embosser brune par dessus. Le papillon est un autocollant 'lost in the attic' de Seigneur Tim.

Grungy Monday #11 - SSSSC

This week the lovely Linda from Studio L3 is challenging us to a Lord Tim of Holtz January 2008 challenge technique, aslo known as faux batique. Sweet Linda over at Simon Says Stamp and Show challenges us to show our distressed or torn edges. So here's my tag for both challenges:

Cette semaine l'adorable Linda de Studio L3 nous défie à utiliser une technique de Seigneur Tim of Holtz : January 2008 challenge technique, aussi connue sous le nom de faux batique. La douce Linda de Simon Says Stamp and Show  nous défie de montrer des bords distressés ou déchirés. Voici mon tag pour les deux challenges:

 

I started with applying some spun sugar distress stain on the tag, than worked Lord Tim's technique with his stamp. I colorised the tag with bundled sage, pumice stone, brushed corduroy and forest moss. I blended the colors with water sprayed with a mini mister and added some spots using peeled paint distress stain. The wording is a Lady Wendy Vecchi stamp.

It's been some time now that i wanted to show you guys something else. This is a tag i received from Kazz. I'm a huge fan of her and if you don't know her, you must have a look at her blog. She makes to most awesome art-pieces!  And this is way i call myself president for life of the Okafaclub (Official Kazz Fan Club)!

Use It Tuesday challenge #9: unused punch, cut out or die!

So, here we are, with my very first post for the Use It Tuesday as a DT member :) 
This 2 weeks challenge is all about getting you to use a never before used punch, cut out or die. 
For me that was the mini gears (movers and shapers) from Lord Tim of Holtz. 
Usually when i buy that kind of stuff, i already know what i want to do with it. But not for the mini gears... And was i happy with that when i saw our first assignment for the DT!

Nous y voilà, avec mon tout premier post pour Use It Tuesday comme membre de la DT :)
Le défi pour les deux semaines à venir concerne une perfo, une découpe ou une plaque de découpe jamais utilisée. Pour moi, c'était les mini gears (movers and shapers) de Seigneur Tim of Holtz.
Généralement quand j'achète ce genre de matériel, je sais déjà ce que je veux en faire. Mais pas pour les mini gears... Et j’en étais très contente lorsque j'ai vu notre première mission pour la DT!

To colorize the tag, i used Lord Tim's enamel technique, involving (weathered wood) distress ink and clear embossing powder. I finished it off with some walnut stain DI. I used the cut out mini gears as embellishments: a bit of brushed corduroy sprayed with a mini mister, brushed corduroy DI and glossy accents. The grungeboard wing is painted with pebble dabber, I added some walnut stain DI after sandgripping it and finished it off with rock candy crackle paint. The images in the gears openings are a Darkroom Door photo and some Lord Tim’s Bingo paper. The text is a Lord Tim stamp. I added glossy accents on the text and on the images in the cut outs..

Pour coloriser le tag, j’ai utilisé la technique enamel de Seigneur Tim, comprenant de l’encre distress (weathered wood) et de la poudre à embosser transparante. J’ai fini le tout avec de l’encre distress walnut stain. J’ai utilisé les découpes de mini gears comme embellissements : un peu de brushed corduroy spritché avec un mini mister, la même couleur en encre distress et du glossy accents. L’aile en grungeboard est peinte avec du dabber pebble, j’ai ajouté un peu de walnut stain après l’avoir grattée au papier de verre et j’ai fini le tout avec du rock candy crackle paint. Les images dans les découpes de mini gears sont une photo Darkroom Door et un peu de papier Bingo de Seigneur Tim. Le texte est un tampon Seigneur Tim. J’ai rajouté du glossy accents sur le texte et sur les images dans les découpes.

Hey all!  Get ready for some info-overload, because...
I prepared a whole post for you guys on Tuesday, but our internet (and tv) provider decided otherwise… no internet connection (and no tv) until next Tuesday… grrrr. But, wait a sec. No connection means … no distraction from scrapping! 

And here’s my weeks production:
First a tag for the Grungy Monday challenge #10 where the Lovely Linda over at Studio L3, challenged us to a Distress Ink-O-Rama.  And Sweet Linda over at Simon Says Stamp and Show, challenged us to show a tag. How could that not be fun?
So i mixed some Lord Tim's stuff, some Lady Wendy and i love how it came out...

J’avais préparé tout un post pour vous mardi, mais notre fournisseur d’internet (et télé), j’ai nommé Belgatuut… en a décidé autrement… pas de connections (ni de télé) jusqu’à mardi… grrrr… Mais, une minute. Qui dit pas de connections dit… pas de distraction du scrap !

Voici ma production de la semaine :
Tout d’abord un tag pour le challenge #10 Grungy Monday où l'adorable Linda du Studio L3 nous défie cette semaine à un Distress Ink-O-Rama. Et la douce Linda de Simon Says Stamp and Show, nous demande de montrer un tag. Comment ne pas s'amuser avec ça?
Donc j'ai mélangé un peu de Seigneur Tim, avec un peu de Lady Wendy et j'adore le résultat...

The dummy art part was painted with several layers of snow cap dabber than stamped with black archival. I applied some black dabber on the borders and i melted clear embossing powder over the whole thing.  The little butterflies are clearly for art whiteout cut out with a small die, stamped with black archival ink and with a black dabber border. The butterfly wings under the dummy are grungeboard on which i applied lots of layers of perfect pearl mist forever violet, dusty concord DI, adirondack alcohol ink pearl. The tag has dusty concord and rusty hinge as well in distress ink as in re-inker sprayed with a mini-mister. The wings are stamped on the tag with snow cap adirondack.


Le mannequin est peint avec plusieurs couches de snow cap dabber et tamponné avec de l'archival noire. J'ai appliqué du dabber noire sur les bords et j'ai fondu de la poudre à embosser clear sur le tout. Les petits papillons sont du clearly for art whiteout coupé avec une petite perfo, tamponnés avec de l'archival noire et avec un bord en dabber noir.  Les ailes de papillon en dessous du mannequin sont colorisés avec beaucoup de couches de perfect pearl mist forever violet, d'encre distress dusty concord et d'encre à alcool pearl. Le tag est colorisé à la dusty concord et à la rusty hinge en encre distress et en ré-encreur appliqué au mini-mister. Les ailes sont tamponnés au snow cap adirondack.

Next, i mixed some more Lord Tim’s stuff, even more Lady Wendy stuff and i made a … tagtree.

I’ts been some time since I was looking for a nice way to store my tags or show them when I’m out on demo’s or classes. This is what I came up with and i absolutely love it!

Ensuite, j’ai mélange un peu de trucs de Seigneur Tim, un peu plus de trucs Lady Wendy et j’ai fait… un arbre à tag.

Cela faisait quelque temps que je cherchais comment stocker mes tags ou les montrer quand je pars en démo ou pour des ateliers. Et voici mon idée et je l'adore

All that’s square is 1/16 inch cardboard, all the rest is Art Parts. The base is filled with sand for stability, the top is mounted on a mini turningplate. The knob on  top is a vintage one to be used to turn the top around.

Tout ce qui est carré est du carton 2mm, tout le reste  est fait de Art Parts. La base est remplie de sable pour la stabilité, le dessus est monté sur un mini plateau tournant. Le bouton sur le dessus est une antiquité qui sert à faire tourner le dessus sur la base.

 Now i have to put some packaging plastic on the back of my tags to put them on the rings...

Happy scrappy news: Use It Tuesday!

Finally i get to share my oh so exciting news with you!
Last week i told you how i discovered a challenge called Use It Tuesday, which is all about challenging you to use those items you ones bought and then forget you have. I think this idea is so inventive, that i couldn't resist applying for their DT call. And yes, i got selected! (doing the happy bunny dance!)
Together with i bunch of over the top talented ladies, i will be making projects to get you guys even more challenged to use ... your stash! I hope you will join me in this adventure. I can't wait to get started!!!

Ca y est, je peux enfin partager ma super bonne nouvelle!
La semaine passée je vous ai raconté comment j'ai découvert un challenge qui s'appelle Use It Tuesday (utilise le le mardi), qui nous met au défi d'utiliser tout ce matos qu'on a un jour acheté et dont on ne se souvient même pas. J'ai trouvé l'idée tellement originale, que je n'ai pu résister à l'appel de DT. Et oui, j'ai été sélectionnée! (tellement contente que je fais la danse du lapin crétin!)
Avec tout un groupe de dames super talentueuses, je ferai des projets pour vous défier à utiliser... votre matos! J'espère que vous me rejoindrez dans cette aventure. Suis trop impatiente que ça commence!

Grungy Monday 09

Hey all!
This morning i finalized my tag for the Grungy Monday challenge. I have to say i love this one, because it really turned out totally different than my original plan! Things just happened and... there it was. And that, i must say, is creative fun to me!

Ce matin j'ai finalisé mon tag pour le challenge Grungy Monday. Je dois dire que je l'aime bien celui-ci, parce qu'il est totalement différent de ce que j'avais prévu à la base. Les choses se sont mises en place et... voilà. Et ça pour moi, c'est le plaisir créatif!

The background is made using Lord Tim of Holtz shabby chic technique with the colors white for the bottom color, mushroom, willow  and espresso on top. The clock, housenumber and "13" stickers and the wording are from Lord Tim's salvage stickers and stamps. On the left side of the clock i put a THE Wendy Vecchi art parts colorised with vintage crackle paint.
Hope you all like it as much as i do! 
Now i'm off to get my SSSSC done...

Le fond a été fait en utilisant la technique shabby chic de Seigneur Tim of Holtz avec les couleurs blanche pour le fond, mushroom, willow et espresso pour le dessus. Les autocolants horloge, numéro de maison et "13" ainsi que le texte sont des salvage stickers et tampon de Seigneur Tim. A gauche de l'horloge j'ai mis un art parts de LA Wendy Vecchi, colorisé au vintage crackle paint.

Maintenant je suis partie faire mon SSSSC (Simon says stamp and show challenge)...
