Grungy Monday 06

Hey all!
Four days after our return, my head is still in the US. Just to say how much fun we had over there! We're still very tired, so crafting goes very slowly lol.
Nevertheless, i wanted to make a birthday card for my friend Do, so i turned to Lovely Linda at Studiol3 for some inspiration. This week her Grungy Monday challenge took us back to the 12 Tags of Christmas, 2007, Day 8 from Lord Tim of Holtz.

I started with some Sticky-back canvas, embossed it with the new embossing plate 'clocks', colorised it with weathered wood and brushed corduroy DI. The butterfly is a glassine cut out made with the mover and shaper and i made the same cut out in the Sticky-back canvas. The butterfly is sprayed with Perfect Pearl Mist heirloom gold. I made some home made kraft resist to stick the canvas on. I applied the GM technique on the yummi Art Parts, using the colors mushroom and sandal dabber and weathered wood stain. The images are stamped with sepia and black archival. Et voilà!
I had great fun making this card and even more fun offering it to Do.
Now some rest, than back to my scraproom... See ya!

A bientôt!

I hope you had a good trip and your book you made got filled with memories and findings !

I really like your tag : I love the colorcombination of the blue and the brown. I use the weathered wood much too less, but when I see it here I KNOW I should use it and I will like it :)

I like the composition and the leaf that goes over the edge on the left.
The cutout of the butterfly in the canvas with the glassine butterfly on top is another very nice detail on your tag.
