4 -> 11 May : USA!

Yes, the title says it all, from 4 to 11 May DH and I will be in the USA. We're off to New York City for 3 days, than getting to Key Largo in Florida for 3 days. And i couldn't go without... a roadbook. It's still quite empty, i hope to fill it with a lot of stuff on the way.

I started with 1/16 cardboard to make the structure as thought to us by Do and covered it with Lord Tim's paper from the lost and found stash. The words 'May' and 'USA' are made of grungeboard. May is colorised with dusty concord, worn lipstick and walnut stain DI and covered with crackle accent. USA is colorised with pearl, mushroom and eggpland dabber and with dusty concord and walnut stain DI. I than applied some rubb-on that i distressed with sandpaper and to finish it off i applied a layer of glossy accent.

The right side hides a notebook.   Le côté droit cache un bloc-note.

Behind the first envelope a attached a mini-book Lord Tim showed us in a video for Valentine.

I tried to include both Linda's challenge over at Grungy Monday (new dimension) and Simon Says Stamp and Show challenge (buttons). There aren't that much buttons, but i think it's a record for a roadbook. What do you think?
Little close up of the new dimension cover of my notebook.

I'd like to end this post with a big thank you to Elaine and Lisa over at destination art for selecting one of my entries from the Grungy Monday challenge for the review of it on their blog. And a big welcome to all new Aussie members!
I hope to come back from the States with lots and lots of memories, but also Art Parts, Clearly for Art, Distress stains, stamps, paper, glassine, dies, texture fades, idea-ology, ... oh, yes, we're only aloud 23 kg luggage... i'm off checking what clothes i really really need...

  13. Finally you are going to have your trip. I know you will find lots of things to include as you travel. A friend goes to the thrift stores and buys her traveling wardrobe and then discards each piece as worn to make room in the luggage for purchases. Just a thought to help you get more Tim and Wendy purchases home.

first the UK, now the USA !
    You're quite a traveller :)
If I was you I only took the necessary clothes , a very minimum and leave them in the US so you can fill your and your husbands suitcase with artstuff from there...

Your roadbook is great : I like the hidden notebook , the envelop and the mini-album to put tags in.

Do you let us know when you come back and how it looks filled with stories and embellishments ?

    enjoy your trip !
