Journal on Monday: week 28

Hey all!
Happy Monday everyone and happy Banking Holiday to my British friends :)
For today's journal on Monday i decided to leave my comfort zone: starting point is an image from an old Somerset Studio, which is a mixed media magazine. I never used a magazine image in journaling before. It was a fun experience so i will try this again!

Coucou!

Journaling: 'A woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.'
 (E. Roosevelt)
(E. Roosevelt)

I started (after gessoing) by spraying several layers of spray inks: lettuce, meadow and mushroom colorwash and cut grass dylusions. I also used water and a cloth to add texture in it.

I was very cautios trimming this pretty lady and gluing her down :) I added a mix of gesso and meadow colorwash over a punchanella on the page.

I added some more of the gesso mix and Graphic 45 fishes i trimmed. I also give the girl a crown.

I stamped a text stamp with sepia archival.

Using Julie Fei-Fan Balzer pomgranate mask i added forest moss distress ink.

I printed the journaling, trimmed it, distressed it and added vintage photo on the borders.

With a black Posca, i drew a flowerish border that i colorized first with Sennelier oil pastel to seal the ink reactive ink underneath, second with Derwent inktense.

Some black and white dots to finish it off.

Isn't she gorgeous? And love how her tea bag is a butterfly, hence the journaling. Pun intented! lol
Have a happy week and i'd love to read what you think of it :)

  7. Well, I think those pages are really clever. The quote is great and you have interpreted it so well... or did the quote come after the images were assembled? A lovely piece of art which works so well.

  10. J'adore, j'adore, j'adore. Bisous
