Journal on Monday: week 27

Hey all!
First of all, welcome to my new followers here and on my facebook page. Wave! Only 14 to go for the give away!
Today's Journal on Monday page is a bit special for me. I made it in my brand new kind of homemade art journal! It's an experiment i'm doing for our Art Journal Café but my experiment turned into a new love story, lol, which was totally unexpected. Hence, the journaling on the first page: a visualization come through :)

Coucou!

Journaling: 'The Univers gave you the power to visualize, use it.'

How this all came together: i started by gluing down bits and scraps of leftovers still on my desk after making the journal: watercolor paper, sticky back canvas and linen.

Using my finger, i painted in between the glued pieces with Golden neutral grey acrylic paint.

Knowing the paint would act as a resist, i sprayed the glued pieces with dylusion ink (bubbelgum pink, squeezed orange, cut grass).

With a plastic card, i added gesso between the pieces.

I applied molding paste over a Julie Fei-Fan Balzer mask (leaf frame), left it to dry, then painted it with Golden green gold and sap green hue (yes, that does require patience, lol).

Then came THE layer that would make it or... ruin it! Luckily for me, it turned out how i wanted it to be :) And that layer is a golden wash: i roughly added a layer of golden acrylic paint, sprayed it with lots of water and lifted the excess paint with a baby whipe.

I had this tag laying around, it's sprayed with the same dylusion inks. I tore a piece off, distressed the edges and added vintage photo distress ink on the borders.

I played with water to make the ink react, stamped the borders using archival coffee and started writing the journaling.

The bird was also laying around, it's watercolor paper cut with a Lord Tim of Holtz die, colorized with glimmer mist sand and olive vine. The glaze on top is golden glimmer glam.

And here it is, the famous journal that stole my heart! The how and why is for ... another time! Have a happy Monday :)
